Shreveport Dental Assistant School’s mission is to provide our students with a comprehensive education covering all of the topics and procedures they will encounter in their new dental assistant careers. Topics covered in our course include:
Our 40-hour externship program provides our students with the real-world experience they need to become confident and qualified dental assistants. The externship portion of our course allows our students the opportunity to work under the direct guidance of experienced dental professionals in a local dental office. Students are eligible to begin their externships after class 6.
When students graduate from our program, they will receive their Dental Assistant School Certificate from our program which states that they are ready to enter the workforce as a Dental Assistant.
Additionally, they will receive their BLS (CPR) certification through the American Red Cross.
Students will receive their Radiology Certificate from Medcom, which is taken in class.
Additionally, students are eligible for Expanded Duties after working for 6 months, attending a 3-day course, and paying an application fee for EDDA.
The Shreveport Dental Assistant School is licensed and regulated by the Louisiana Board of Regents.
Although we encourage our students to find their own externships, our externship coordinators are here to help our students identify potential opportunities in the area and assist with applications.
